Nova Scotia fire departments have responded with new safety measures after a firefighter died as a result of an incident during training that involved a fire extinguisher.
By tweaking the chemical mix of the electrolyte used in lithium-ion batteries scientists at the University of Tokyo have developed a battery showing negligible volatility up to 150 degrees Celsius.
The idea seems to be that all commercial buildings need fire risk management services so the fire department will compete for the business. They also plan to sell health and safety, first aid and extinguisher training.
