Fire Plans Examiner Training is designed for fire prevention professionals, building officials, and design professionals who want to build stronger skills in interpreting and reviewing building plans.

If your department is growing, your plan volume is increasing, or your team is being asked to provide fire-safety comments on new construction, this training gives you a stronger foundation for doing that work.

At the conclusion of this course, participants will have the knowledge and skills to participate in fire plan review using the codes adopted by their municipality.

Participants will learn how to:

• Apply the National Building Code, National Fire Code, International Building Code and International Fire Code to plan review.
• Review building plans from a fire-safety perspective.
• Identify fire and life safety considerations within submitted plans.
• Develop clear, code-based review comments.

• Apply NFPA 1030 Fire Plans Examiner job performance requirements.
